CLEAN WATER
From Relief to Resilience
Because Clean Water Is Life
Water is more than something we drink — it is health, dignity, and opportunity. Yet millions of people still walk long distances every day to collect unsafe water. Children miss school, families fall ill, and women face serious risks on dangerous journeys.
At Salam Charity, we believe access to clean water is a basic human right, not a privilege. That is why we build new wells, restore damaged ones, and support hygiene initiatives — helping families drink, wash, and live without fear of disease. With your support, we do more than provide water — we help transform lives.
Our Mission Through WASH
(Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene)
Your generosity helps us to:
- Provide safe, accessible water by building deep wells and solar-powered boreholes
- Promote hygiene through awareness programs and the distribution of soap and water containers
- Reduce open defecation by providing facilities and education — addressing a crisis that affects over 673 million people worldwide
- Strengthen climate resilience through sustainable, long-lasting water solutions
Deep Water Wells — Long-Term Access to Clean Water
A single deep water well can provide fresh, naturally filtered water to up to 1,000 people and is designed to last at least 20 years.
Estimated costs by location and type:
Every well is a lifeline — reducing hours spent collecting water and allowing families more time for education, farming, and building sustainable futures.
Well Rehabilitation — Restoring Existing Lifelines
Not every community requires a new well. In many cases, repairing an abandoned or damaged well can restore clean water access to hundreds of people at a much lower cost.
Our teams assess each site and safely rehabilitate wells, bringing health, stability, and hope back to entire communities.
Hygiene Kits — Preventing Disease, Protecting Families
Clean water alone is not enough. Without proper hygiene, disease can spread rapidly, especially in refugee camps and underserved communities.
Our hygiene kits include essential items such as:
- Soap
- Handwash and sanitiser
- Household cleaning supplies
- Cost: $35 CAD per kit
- Impact to date: 300 hygiene kits delivered to refugees in Lebanon and to mothers and children in Pakistan
The Impact of Your Support
Clean water alone is not enough. Without proper hygiene, disease can spread rapidly, especially in refugee camps and underserved communities.
Our hygiene kits include essential items such as:
- 412 water wells installed across Africa and Asia
- 150,000+ people now accessing clean, safe drinking water daily
- 300 hygiene kits distributed in Lebanon and Pakistan
Each figure represents lives improved, illnesses prevented, and futures strengthened.
Your Support Delivers More Than Water
Every well built, every pump restored, and every hygiene kit delivered offers more than aid — it offers freedom. Freedom for children to learn, for women to work, and for families to live with dignity and hope.
