Behind Every Statistic Is a Child Left Behind
Without access to education, these children face a lifetime of limited opportunity and uncertainty.
- 263 million children and youth are currently out of school
- 61 million primary school–aged children are not in classrooms — 53% are girls, placing them at higher risk of child marriage
- 420 million children may never gain basic literacy or numeracy skills
- 124 million children have never started school or were forced to drop out

Dream Schools — Bangladesh
In the slum communities of Sylhet, Bangladesh, access to education is extremely limited. Illiteracy rates reach 33%, far above the national average.
To address this gap, Salam Charity launched the Dream Schools Program, delivering meaningful change:
- 30 schools built within slum areas
- 1,403 children enrolled in free education programs
- Qualified teachers delivering structured preparatory curricula
- On-site healthcare and free medicine to support student well-being
For these children, a classroom represents more than education — it is a safe space to learn, grow, and imagine a brighter future.
Tents of Dreams — Lebanon
For refugee and vulnerable children in Lebanon, traditional schooling is often inaccessible. To bridge this gap, Salam Charity launched Tents of Dreams in December 2022.
The initiative includes:
- 5 education tents, each serving 30 children
- 150 children enrolled in the first phase
- 10 children enrolled in the first phase
Beyond education, the program builds confidence, prepares children to transition into formal schools, and restores hope in uncertain circumstances.
Impact Vocational School (2023–2024) — Bangladesh
Education also means preparing young people for employment and independence. In Bangladesh:

- Practical, job-ready skills for today’s workforce
- Post-training employment support
So far, 302 students have enrolled — gaining not just education, but a pathway to income, dignity, and independence.
